Galo’s Italian Grill is another favorite. This locally-owned restaurant guarantees everything they serve will be always fresh and always Italian. Their menu touts imported pasta, wood-fired pizza, steaks and sea food. If you don’t think you can go beyond the barn long enough for a sit down meal, Galo’s also offers carry out.

If you’re not in the mood for Italian, grab a sandwich at another local favorite located in the historic part of town Little Sheba’s. Not only does this joint have lots of character, but they have a diverse menu that’s great for lunch.

Fricker’s is another favorite of Richmond regulars. This spot promises fun, food, sports and spirits. Although they’re known for their wings, if that’s not your thing, there are plenty of other pub classics on their menu.

If you love chocolate, you might want to read on. The city of Richmond has created its own Chocolate Trail consisting on a dozen local shops that offer free chocolate samples. To receive the freebies though, you must pick up a passport from the Old National Road Welcome Center.
