The NJSA Western Regional made a move to Reno, Nevada this year. We hope you are as excited as us to explore new things Reno has to offer. If you find yourself at the NJSA Western Regional, read all about our places to visit beyond the barn.

If you are looking for food, entertainment, or fun in Reno, visit the Riverwalk District. There many places to explore all within walking distance of one another.

There are a variety of parks that you can visit in the area. Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary is a short half-hour drive from the fairgrounds.  Since 1981, Animal Ark has provided a safe haven for injured, abandoned, and otherwise non-releasable wildlife.

Reno is also home to the National Automobile Museum. The Museum collects and preserves automobiles for future generations, with an emphasis on vehicles collected by William Fisk “Bill” Harrah, to tell the story of the impact of the automobile on American society, and to perpetuate the legacy of Mr. Harrah as a renowned collector. Admission is only $6 for adults and $12 for kids.

If you came to Reno with hopes of finding delicious food, you are in luck. The Atlantis Sky Terrace Sushi and Oyster Bar is the #1 place to eat in Reno according to Trip Advisor. The menu has over 50 types of sushi to choose from.

Not into sushi? No problem. The Atlantis Casino and Resort also has a Steakhouse. It was recently voted Best Overall Steakhouse in the Reno – Tahoe area by OpenTable diners.

If you are on the hunt for a brunch spot, Squeeze In has a variety of breakfast foods sure to make your mouth water. Swing by to try the “best omelets on the planet.”
