We sat down with Jason Knight of 4J Genetics to learn more about his operation and the pigs he is consigning in The Debut!
Jason and Jarred Knight grew up showing livestock with a specific passion for swine. Now, 20 years later, they have turned that passion into 4J Genetics. Based in Alvin, Texas, the brothers run 40 sows and 10 boars.
“We have everything but a Hereford and a Tamworth,” Jason says.
The Knights credit their passion and love for agriculture and livestock to their grandfather, Jessie Knight, who at 87 years young still makes it to the barn to check on the pigs daily. Raising quality livestock for their daughters to exhibit is a big goal for Jason and Jarred, but they recognize that all of the families they work with have different goals and they are committed to helping them achieve success.
