All-Star Camp is a five-day immersive leadership experience that is unlike anything currently being offered in our industry. But, it’s definitely not for everyone! Here’s a little primer to give you a glimpse of what camp is and isn’t.

What Camp IS:

  1. A chance to live alongside and rub elbows with people who share your passion for agriculture and showing livestock. Most of us would rather be in a barn than anywhere else and we like it that way! If this sounds like you, these are #yourpeople and you will likely make unbelievable connections and lifelong friendships.
  2. A chance to learn from and connect with highly respected industry leaders in a small group setting. We have been so fortunate to hear from speakers that are our industry’s biggest thinkers and doers – and our campers have been able to interact with them A TON! It’s the chance of a lifetime!
  3. An opportunity to hang out on the BEAUTIFUL campus at Iowa State and work with some of their most respected faculty in hands-on activities. Who knows, you may just fall in love and never want to leave!
  4. A chance to slow down and remove yourself from the daily grind, and learn more about opportunities within our industry. You’ll hopefully learn more about who you are and what makes you unique, and maybe uncover a hidden passion that can help you carve your path in life, or at least figure out some next steps.
  5. It is part mission trip, part career exploration, part pig camp, part summer camp, it’s impossible to fully understand until you experience it!

What Camp is NOT:

  1. We are not the premier place to learn selection, feeding, showmanship and day-to-day care expertise. There is TONS of wisdom on these topics in the room, if you are willing to seek it, but that is not our primary purpose. Although we will spend some time here, there are others who do this WAY better than we do!
  2. We are not a camp where everyone who attends has to have won a national show – we are looking for all levels of competitors from the county fair novice to the banner hog (you know who you are!). The only requirements are passion, heart and a willingness to learn!
  3. This is not a camp with lots of downtime, silly games, pranks or other shenanigans. We work hard, play hard, study hard and sleep hard while we are together. We understand that we represent ourselves, our families, Showpig.com and the agricultural community as a whole, and we exude respect, responsibility and discipline wherever we go. If you are looking for a place to act like a hoodlum, please check out another option!
  4. This is not the place to be if you aren’t interested in engaging your noggin’, asking questions, learning a lot, letting your guard down and being your real authentic self.
  5. This is not a camp where you will hate the food. We really, really like to eat good food. You will not go hungry!

All-Star Camp is one of our team’s favorite weeks of the year. If it has piqued your interest, we would love for you to be a part of the event! And we love answering any questions you may have too! Just know, we have high expectations in exchange for an invaluable take away.
