Lackey Livestock, located in Haskell, Texas, has been producing quality commercial and show stock for years. Like so many who grow up showing livestock, Jason’s passion for the swine industry has led to an operation that now consists of approximately 80 sows made up of Crosses, Yorks, Hamps, Durocs and Chesters. With their sale being hosted on Showpig.com today, we wanted to sit down and found out just exactly How They Work with Jason Lackey.
With "The Exposition" being under a month away, everyone is in full prep mode. The Caldwell Family is undoubtedly known for not only showing many World Pork Expo champions over the years, but being highly competitive every year as a family. For this episode of Tipster Tuesday, we asked Maddie, Todd and Kim to put together some helpful tips for prepping hogs and prepping yourself and family for a week in Des Moines. Take a look!
Find out how Wendt Livestock works in today's How They Work!
Wendt Livestock is a small family farm, specializing in Hampshires, Durocs, and Crossbred hogs. They also have 30 acres of cropland and a few cows we own in partnership to raise show calves. Their primary goal is to raise a high-quality, purebred gilt or boar that can have a positive influence on the breed and make significant change. Their secondary goal is to raise a quality purebred or crossbred market hog that can compete at any level for their children to show at the county or state fair and provide quality pigs for families with similar goals.
