Re: Harder Center body?
It absolutely amazes me how judges do not use industry standard terminology.
I truly believe at times they just make things up on the fly to describe normal conditions.
A hard center I can only assume Lean muscle on top with not much cover but again it's only an assumption.
A picture may help

Re: Pigs getting too big too soon???
Bacon Is correct I meant mid May hog for a November pig. Sorry I've been working 16hrs days for 5 weeks a bit tired.
But yes Bacon is on point, and I agree let them ride until about 180 and adjust at that weight.

Re: Pigs getting too big too soon???
Actually 90 days would be October shows. November could be as much as 130 days out. Yes that is big for a November show. Litter born dates for November show should be early/mid June. I have some mid April hogs going into a show in early/mid October currently at the same weights as yours and my early...
Re: Vitamin P
It is something you have to watch. That is always a possible. If you use it and they begin to walk stiff in the rear then stop it immediately. I found though if the hog is sound and not overly muscled with plenty of cover going into the paylean feeding period they come out looking great and still be...

Re: Barrow very thick and got quite a lot of belly fat
On the Barrow I would not use fitter 35 I would have that one on a good 17 % like purina 909 even a 16% I see where the judge is seeing the middle. I would have the barrow on 2lbs 909 purina or something equal to 1/2 lb heavy weight 1oz liquid fat like kick n chicken 1/2 pound depth charge 4oz ultra...

Re: Photo section
I was just playing with the photo options there really not the greatest. But the easiest way is put your photo somewhere on the internet so you can leave and address to it. So put it on face book or photo bucket then once you do that right click the photo and scroll down to properties. then copy the...

Re: Need to curb weight gain
Is there a question in there? How long to show, what is the max weigh in? How much are you feeding each product daily?

Re: 25 Days to Fair
Just adding the sumo should get you to 2lbs a day gain and there is your 50. Just feed it the recommended amount at max, I believe sumo (if I remember correctly was 1 lb a day) so 8oz per feeding. You shouldn't need anything else. Sounds like you've done your research and are the right track. Let us...
