Re: Most Complete Crossbred boar out there??
I absolutely will not breed to a boar that has the bowed hock problem. I was at the Crossbred Classic and two boars that stick in my mind that I really liked are Steve Malcolm's Champion Senior Boar that went to Adam Beck and then the boar from WD and I'm not really sure where he went. He sold for $...

Just one cross boar...
I have just one crossbred gilt who is moderate-plus in frame size. Good feet and legs and needs protection when it comes to muscle. (Needs help).
What is the one tried and true boar you would use? Oh, I won't spend $750-$1000/dose either. Must have good feet and legs.
Thanks!

Re: Indy
I only watched the boar classes yesterday at the crossbred classic and then the last few gilt classes. The quality of the gilts FAR exceeded the boars in my opinion.
As an industry, we MUST eradicate the bowed hock problem!

Spot boar for a Leap Frog gilt
I have an excellent Leap Frog gilt and I'm looking for an EXCELLENT Spot boar. Any suggestions?
My gilt is of moderate frame size, great bone and simply the best set of legs and pasterns I've seen on a spot gilt. She's super square and sound.
Please help!!!!!!!!

What are your guy's thoughts on the rodibaugh boar that Upperhand bought? I caught him as he was walking out of the auction block and was pretty impressed. I just looked at this boar on the Upper Hand website and he doesn't look like he did in person at the ISF. Has anyone seen him in person since ...

KGB or anyone, please
<t>I have a few questions, please.

KGB, I believe you have said in the past that 3 lbs. of Powerfill would be a holding ration. Does that mean that if I fed 1 lb. of regular 9 gm paylean complete feed and 1 lb. of Powerfill that it isn't considered a holding ration?

Also, anyo...

Is Lite Aid and diuretic? If so, I personally won't use it. I've seen diuretics ruin hogs.PAshowman wrote:How effective is this product and how much weight can you pull off. Also any other practices used to suck 10 lbs+ in 24+ hrs

what else can you use to keep them filling full without putting on alot of weight? Is three weeks the best to put them on Pay Lean. What exactly will Pay Lean do to/for my pigs? For one, it will increase their rate of gain significantly unless you control how much they eat. Secondly, paylean adds m...

The 3 to 1 feed efficiency is an AVERAGE for the entire growth period. When pigs are first weaned at 18 - 21 days of age, their feed efficiency is very, very good (1 to 1....sometime less than 1 to 1 because of the water intake). As they grow they become less feed efficient, so when they are at abo...
