If your doing a fall show where it's cooler out, keep you pig looking moist. Get a spray bottle and spray her/him all over... Or in the fall use baby oil... If it's a summer show don't baby oil, judges don't like to see baby oil on really hot show days because it doesn't let the pigs skin breath, so...

I use both and personally don't have a preference.... At fairs or shows, its easier to use shavings but at home I use straw. Using straw they can burrow in it... I have in the past put wood shavings down, just a bag or two, then put straw over that. Then when cleaning all you have to do is pick thro...
