Re: Feeding boars
Nothing stronger than a sex drive that you can add to the feed. On one like him all you can do is isolate him more.

Re: Best Hereford boars
NO WAY at premium blend will add bone width and height at the shoulder
The new boar that Showtime Sires bought from the Hereford National is big boned with a huge chest floor and massive center body.

Top Dollar for Pig Delivery!
I need 3 sows delivered and will pay top dollar. I have 2 bred sows at Doug Loof's place in Iowa and 1 in Oklahoma that need to come to South Central Texas ASAP. I will make it work out financially for delivery. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Cross to a york
I'm sure Doug will comment on how Alamo fits into his program, but I'll add my two cents. I think Alamo is an excellent option for making showpig mommas. He's got the little extra frame size, a strong maternal background and still enough stoutness and showring style to make winners. He was a class-...

Re: Cross to a york
Your breeding program, your call. My philosophy is cross on cross on cross will just give you mutts. Selection pressure for vulva size and number born alive can help, but it takes time. Lots of ways to go, but if you can start with a foundation sow and keep daughters it stacks the deck in your favo...

Re: To induce or wait it out
As mentioned in another post, estrumate is not labeled for swine, so you'd need to consult your vet first. folks sometimes get awful touchy about estrumate. Per our vet's instructions we use 2cc estrumate in the neck 24 hours and 12 hours before the due date starting labor normally 24-30 hours from...

Re: Needing to fill
try 1.5lbs 613 and 1.5 groats 2X daily with TNT and i bet you'll be happy, should produce about 1.5 lbs of gain per day, then that last week up the 613 to 2.5lbs per feeding.

Re: Best/preferred pig feed?
sounds like you'll be raising pigs for slaughter. if that's correct then get with a local feed mill and discuss what blends they have and can mill for you as a growing ration.

that is great to hear! as mentioned as he matures you can probably just leave him with them. i'd make sure he has some success a little longer 1st. At least now he has the idea.

If u only gave 1 shot estrumate I would give another. She should also be full of milk, not a little but it should be spraying out when u squeeze the teat.

Re: Sure Champ?
I would wet feed Lindner 613 2x daily with Lindner System Mechanic and sure champ. Cut out all other supplements. As soon as she quits eating pull the feed. She'll increase intake. No need for joint supplement if she walks good and doesn't have joint issues.

Re: Last 40 Days
straight from there website... I have not used 699, but have heard good things. I have used TNT and loved it. Lindner “Weight Watcher” 699: unique holding ration, slow down gain without crashing! & Lindner 1113 Swine Supplement - TNT is another new addition to the Lindner lineup. A unique filler...

Re: Not making weight maybe???
Lindner 613 or as mentioned a high pro feed with paylean hand feed 2x daily and wet feed
Re: feeding
i would go with another product designed for center body expansion, Lindner TnT, Moorbody, and I'm certain Purina has a great one as well. these will be designed to be more palatable.
