yous are all puttin way to much thought into it, yes! please do switch hands but most importantly be yourself, natural, and just let it happen in the ring. don't keep constantly switching while making a simple drive. hope it helps

everyone all has great points,
but i would find someone that is knowledgable about hogs in your area
that would be the best way to go, that way they can help you and your pigs alot better;
im really glad though that your getting into showing

in my county we are swiching to that methond....
but i have had one training thing that was about quality of meat cuts...
that was really educational...we looked at pictures of stressed pigs, and it was pretty cool

and it used to be a gilt would beat out a barrow anyday..

but now things are changing so much in the industry, and now its just down to which one is truely the better pig in my opion

i agree with who ever said it before...
your purebreeds can't compete with the crosses hogs when it comes to the showring
but as far as the industry goes: the purebred registries are all ready established and very well represented throughout the nation
