when to breed

I have some questions on the best timing to AI a sow. I have heard many different things on when the best or appropriate timing is to breed sows and wanted to possibly get some definitive answers. Is the best time when her vulva is swollen and red, is it when the swelling has gone down and she is no...

Matrix and PG 600

I am using matrix to synchronize my females for 14 days and then giving them PG 600 on the 15th day. My question is how many days after I give the PG 600 should I expect to see them in standing heat and ready to breed. I have heard the 1 day to anywhere from 7 days. I am trying to time it up so I ca...

Fitter 52

Will Fitter 52 target and clean up the jowl area? if so, at what rate and typically over what period of time? I am currently feeding 3 1/2 lbs of 719 along with 1 lb of Champion Drive. I need to mass the pig up more behind his blades and throughout his hip, but he needs his jowl area cleaned up as w...

Champion Drive

Kevin, a few questions. One, is there any benefit to feeding more than 1 lb of Champion Drive in order to add muscle mass? How long does it take to typically see a good response with 1 lb of Champion Drive on an average muscled pig(I am also feeding 4 lbs per day of 719) Secondly, do you recommend s...

need help-gilt lost appetite after having mange

What should I treat a 200 lb gilt with and for how long, as she is not eating after she went through having mange on her? I treated her with prolate and the mange dried up, but she hasn't eaten much for the last 4-5 days and is very lethargic.

pig with blood in its feces

have a 60-65 pound pig with blood in his feces. I noticed it two days ago, does not have it in all the stools just some of them. Stool consistency is normal other than the blood in it. Just finished wormer today after 7 day treatment. Eating fairly well and running around. Any thoughts on what it is...

weaning and rebreeding

I was looking for some information/recommendations on how much to feed a sow after weaning and then throughout the summer and into fall in order for them to be in good condition, come into heat regularly and be fully ready to breed this fall. Is there anything I need to do as well as far as vaccinat...

framing and maturing

I hear these terms about letting a pig frame up and mature during their growing stage. How do you do this? What per cent protein and how much feed to get them to do these things?

So I gave her the first shot the week of the 6th of January(5 weeks out is this correct?), then give her the second shot this week? Just want to ...
