Re: How to protect skin from sunburn
You can use regular sunblock like you would use yourself. We use it and have not had a problem with sun burns. If it does develop a sun burn still, there are multiple lotions you can use to help it heal faster.

Re: Proven Spot Breeder
Niehaus-Feldman Genetics in Iowa have proven to be great spot breeders. I have had a couple of spots from them and was amazed on how good they were and how much they worked with me on what judges are looking into the spot breed specifically.

Joint Health?
Is there any sort of feed supplement or something i can put in my pigs water to help my pigs become more free moving in the joints. I have one pig that will walk kind of stiff in the back right leg and am hoping that adding a joint supplement could possibly help. Any ideas are helpful. Thank you.

Re: Feed to add center fill, deep belly
I know with ADM feed, they have a feed called Moorbody. We have used it for a few years and have had tremendous success with it. Just be careful and don't feed to much as it can cause them to look and feel bloated. Good luck.

Re: Self-feeder vs. Hand feeding?
Forgot to mention that we feed primarily ADM and occasionally use Purina supplements. The pigs in question are crosses that were born Jan. 24. Thanks.

Self-feeder vs. Hand feeding?
This my ninth year of showing pigs for 4-H and our fair got moved back a week, causing us to buy a bit younger pigs than we are used to. In the past we used a self feeder until we get an idea of they would weigh at fair and design a plan after that,, and it has worked well in the past. But, with the...

I don't know about polands or berks, but I would go to N&F Genetics in Iowa, or at Crossroad Genetics in Clayton Indiana w/ bullfrog and two-stroke

Re: Showpig Prices
I think it kind of depends on your area and what people are willing to pay for a pig. Where I live, quality show pigs can range from anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to a couple thousand depending on genetics and your reputation. I would start at $600 and adjust your price as needed. Keep in m...

Kgb, we use the navigator to help the top line and i believe the Moorman's Showtec already has the vitamins that you mentioned, but I'm not a hundred percent sure.

Re: Moorman's, Purina, or Sunglo?????
I know I'm being a little bias but i hate Sunglo feeds. I have never got pigs to grow well with Sunglo. We use Moorman's Showtec as our base feed (18% mostly mixing the high and low fat when needed). We use other Moorman's products like the Moorbody, Lean Maximizer, as well as the Navigator. We will...

Re: Us dirt or cement better to raise show pigs on?
I raise my pigs in different pens. We start them off with sawdust on a concrete floor. After the weather turns nice again, we let them go outside to help keep the inside of the building clean. One of the pens is mostly concrete with some sawdust. The other side is all dirt. We have to have our pigs ...

Re: Monster Pipe
I showed a gilt that he was the grandfather to and she was one of the best pigs that I have ever had. She ended up being a res. champ for our breeding show. She was about 245 and had the perfect amount of muscle and width while being very square and being the most sound pig at the show. If I were yo...

Re: Need help asap need to put 60 lbs on a pig in 2 weeks!
The Paylean will help them put wait on but if they are as muscular as you say then you run the risk of them becoming too muscled and become too soft when they walk. I would suggest the Moorbody from Moormans Showtec. It will help them eat more while putting on a little cover which judges love these ...
