Re: Is it PED????

The instructions I was given to dilute Resorb for the baby pigs was different from the package directions. Dilute each package with 4 quarts of water VS 2 quarts. You can check with your own Vet.

My pigs did extremely well on the Resorb.

Re: Is it PED????

I have been using First Pulse D for many years. It is an amazing product for weak baby pigs. I want to share a story that I have been hesitant to, but feel I should. I broke with PEDV almost 4 weeks ago. I am a small breeder that farrows primarily for specific show dates. I am one of the little guys...

Ever had one like this?

I have a young sow that I will breed next month. She had her first litter this last March. For the past 3 cycles, she gets really weak, goes off feed, gets a high temp and acts like she is going to die right as she is due to come in. She will literally stagger around, and just want to lay down. The ...

As far as my prognostication for 2013: After seeing how well many of the Hill Billy Bone sons seem to produce, I'm thinking Monumental will make a big splash this co...

we have gotten more bloom and grow out of showrite 50mg than any other feed we have ever used, except sunglo 800 a few years back, but it seems not to do the same thing now as it did. Piggy Piggy, I have been wanting to try the 50 mg.I have been a HUGE fan of Showmaster starter. My little pigs look...

<t>I just have to say that there is more to it than just vulva size. <br/> <br/> I bought a very young breeding prospect from a very well known individual. <br/> <br/> She grew up to have a very small vulva, but never had a problem farrowing with her to date. It stretches just fine and she had her t...

Keep some beer, wine whiskey, Ace and duct tape handy. Be there when she farrows. When she starts to farrow and is going to act up again, put some whiskey in her ear, drink one beer, put some wine or beer in her water, duct tape her mouth shut and give her some ace. If this does not work, drink the...

Scrotal Hernias

<t>I would like opinions as to what causes scrotal hernias? I have been told it can be genetic from the boar, or a combo of both boar and sow. <br/> <br/> I had a really long hard labor with a gilt that was tiny in the hip area. All pigs had to be snared and it wasn't easy. Could the trauma of the b...

<t>If I have one of those completely lifeless or really weak pigs born, I try to get them stimulated, warm, dry and moving. Once that is happening, First Pulse D from Ralco is a good follow up.It gives them a kick start and gets them nursing much sooner. It also is helpful down the road for other se...

I think Cow Bell looks really interesting. I have not seen any of the young pigs in person, just pics in the online sales. They look good. I would love to hear if anybody has seen either the boar or the offspring.

<t>I used him on a Batman gilt that needed to be downsized. She also needed width, rib. He did everything I needed. I kept a gilt back and happy with her. The littermates show in a few weeks. I have not seen them, but it sounds like they are right on track. The barrows were awesome when I sold them....
