Re: Spot Crosses
It doesn't quite work like that. The spots and red color don't come from the spots or durocs. They come from the Pietrain hogs when they used them back in the 90's. Im not 100% positive on spots but im pretty sure if you breed a York to a spot theyre all white and if you breed a hamp to a spot theyr...
Re: Endless
He should do the job on the Gangster female! And 3D, Forever is very similar in leg size and still just as sound as Endless. Forever has that little extra shot of muscle and is a little more extended and taller through that front end. Hes still very massive.
Re: Endless
The best thing to do would be to either call or text Jeff. He's about as honest as they come. But to answer your question the best I can I have not had the chance to use him YET. I saw this boar in person though and hes a freak in terms of bone, mass, and rib. Like as big legged as Ive seen. Hes not...

Why don't you just use his littermate brother at A Cut Above?

Re: Meeker showpig sires
Semen quality is by far the best I've seen from any stud! There wont be any problems sticking sows and if there is they back it up. Saw the boars a few weeks ago and they're deep! Prime is a super tall shouldered and extremely extended boar with a ton of look. He is right where the show pig trend is...

Re: Cross Boar that does not toe in
I second the suggestion of Invisible Stripes. He his a boar that is problem free. He will definitely fix those front feet and not add any extra problems!

Re: semen and boar studs
Like I said it definitely depends who it is and what boar. I've seen semen out of the same boar at two different times and one time it looked super good and the next time you could tell it was mixed light. Not light enough that you couldn't get one bred but still light because they had more orders o...

Re: What sire to use?
Invisible Stripes. Travis Perry bred and owned him for 2 years and then sold him to us. He is still on Travis's website www.perryswinegenetics.com and he is on our facebook page under Big Ridge Show Pigs. He will add the base and muscle you need with a super good look. Plus he is a lot cheaper than ...

Re: semen and boar studs
My buddy and I have around 30 sows between the two of us and we check ALL our semen and even other people's. Some studs are worse than others at giving you what you need and sometimes it not really the stud but it depends on what boar. If a boar is booked up and depending on who it is they'll dilute...

Re: Full Strut
Just bought a Full Strut x Head On boar from Jeff Meeker a few days ago. A couple of us went in on him. He's posted on his website in the boar prospect section. Jeff described Full Strut as really correct and can really reach out on the go like the best swaggers. Hes got the look, muscle, front end ...

Re: Johnny Outlaw
I have a Johnny Outlaw boar that is super complete. I dont know what the dam looked like but she was a Power to Change sow. He is square on all 4 corners, super sound, long and big framed and packs plenty of muscle for his frame size. Once he is big enough we will collect him and he will definitely ...

Re: How Long A Pig Should Be Exercised?
Dont put them on a treadmill, get out and work them! They wont know how to respond to a whip if you put them on a treadmill and if they slip and fall its a very good way of getting your hog hurt. Treadmill is a bad idea, do it the right way and get out and walk them until they really start to slow d...

Big framed cross boars
Hey guys, I was wondering what cross boars are bigger framed. I have a sow and a gilt that are really moderate and from what I've been seeing moderate isnt the way to go so what boars will really breed the size into them? They are also pretty complete sows, good ribbed and the right amount of muscle...

Re: Worried and Crazy any thoughts
18 pigs is a lot! To start with, the next time this happens it would help to have some oxytocin on hand. It will make her contract and you give 3 cc's near the vulva for every 30-45 minutes she doesnt have a pig. You may have to go inside but I dont like to. She should be done having pigs. If she is...
