Re: Over Run Semen Quality
its not complicated! boar studs of all sizes need to see champions at all levels out of their boars. if they don't sell good semen they wont sell semen for very long therefore wont see champions. success sells!

Re: Gilt barely/not really showing - 2 weeks out
if she is getting an udder she is bred but may only have twins. if she isn't putting on an udder at all I would say she is open. we have a cross gilt that is 2 weeks out yet and she is putting on an udder but does not have a big belly so we are anticipating a small litter out of her. usually gilts w...

I have never had that happen nor have I even heard of it. I would make a phone call to the stud service you used and probably never use their sevices again.

Re: Very Stubborn guilt!!

I finally threw in the towel and told my 9 yr old daughter that from now on just let her go straight to the wash pen and after bath just let her go wherever she wants(even if that's back to her pen). used this method f...

Trash Talk
I saw Trash Talk at Shaffers open house and was very impressed. I am just curious what his babies are looking like. I only breed a few sows and was not able to get semen out of him in the fall. Thanks for any feedback

Re: Breeding without boar
to echo all other responses it can be done without a boar but once you use a boar for heat checking you wont ever want to Not have a boar. next question about when to breed- you can really go crazy on this issue b/c every sow is so different and if your not sitting in a lawn chair by the pen 24/7 yo...

Re: watjie $380,000 blue xbred boar!!
I agree with a lot different things being said but just wanted to add a thought. If your willing to buy a pig sight unseen then that is really your own fault if something is not what you thought with the pig. Its not really obligation of the seller to tell you if his toes might not be even. If you d...

8 Ball litter
We have about a week old litter of 8 Ball (Superman X Split Second) X Preacher. The pigs are pretty well exactly what i was expecting as far as they are all very nice and are all black with most having some white feet or belts. The part I was not prepared for was the down ears. I am very pleased wit...
