Judge Chad Hill

Chad Hill is Judging our county show and was wondering what he looks for? I have a gilt a little weak in her pasturns and wanted to know how he view that’s? What does he look for in showmanship?

I know it is late but some else can learn or you can for next year. If they are cleaning up everything make sure you are increasing how much feed you are giving them. If they aren’t consistently eating more then try wetting the feed or adding oats, or small amounts of sugar for better palatability.

When we are holding we use beet pulp, it is very low in nutrinal value but it will keep them full. You may have to mix in some oats to get them to eat it or add water and make them soggy.

Try diluting Mrs. Stewards bluing in your shampoo, this will take the stains out of the white hair, especially on the legs. Just make sure you DILUTE or you will turn your pig purple.

How we do it is pretty close on the face and ears to give them a fresh look. Use a 1A on the body and blend the neck area so it’s not obvious the face is cut closer
