Prolapse Tube
We placed a rectal prolapse tube a week ago. The tissue has died but I think the tube has been pushed in a bit and I can’t see it or the castration band. The tissue just under the anus is still soft. The gilt is still pooping fine. How much longer should I wait for it to fall off? Should I pull on i...

Clipping-how short and where?
We've clipped the whole pig at 1/2". The legs, face, and ears, need to be shorter, do we clip without a guard right down to the skin or what sz guard do we use? Any tips are appreciated, thanks!

Re: Bling supplement
I have had 3 pigs on it for the last month and one pig looks great, the other two still need more cover. The one that looks good, is also the best eater, the others don't finish their food. I do think it works well though!

Re: Both supplements?
I've called around and can't find Heavy Weight, we really are limited on options. I haven't used paylean and I doubt I could find it here anyway. The 2 pigs are decent sized could use a bit more mass but mainly just thin through the rib cage with wide shoulders and big hams. If I could find paylean,...

Re: Both supplements?
You are right, so maybe just keep the two who need cover on the bling and then the champion drive for the pig that doesn't need cover? I'm still trying to figure all this feeding stuff out. Thanks for your input voodoo feeders!

Re: Hanging feeders for show
we have used the ones from troy at livestock limo for years they are extremely durable and only $5 a piece It says the difference between the $5 and $12 feeders are clips? How do you hang the $5 feeders? How often do you have to replace the feeders? They look good and I think I'll order a few I'm j...

Both supplements?
We are feeding 3 pigs with 60 days until the fair. They are on 6 lbs of18% meal feed with 5oz of the bling supplement (no paylean) each (wet slopped) . I just bought champion drive to start, for the last 60 days. Should I continue with the bling also? The pigs are not quite as big as I'd like and 2 ...

Re: Not many feed choices
Ive done LOTS of research. They told me it would be 4weeks to get here. So would you feed the Honors 309, or 509 (which would be best at this stage) then switch to 709? That's IF I can get it.

Not many feed choices
We don't have many feed choices available here and I can't find anywhere to order online feed. Currently available to us is Natures Match starter grower and grower finisher, and Dumor show feeds. I could possibly order Honor Show chow, but the feed store had no clue what I was asking for. I can get ...

Re: Choosing a market show pig
Mom is a cross breed with hamp, Duroc, and spot. Dad is a blue butt. So the little gilt is sort of a golden color with a belt like a hamp but has black spots also. I really think she's the nicest looking pig...other "helpers" are trying to say to take the biggest heaviest and I don't neces...

Choosing a market show pig
We are new to the breeding scene this year. My my son has first pick of the litter for his upcoming 4-H project. I have two main questions. 1. Will a stout heavily muscled barrow(York x) do better than a not quite as wide gilt (spotted x hamp) but nice and long with great muscling also. Does the bar...
