Re: Purple pursuit

We have used their gut bomb product with great success. Have used it with both holding one for a show and for adding dimension. Would watch though as it is higher in fat than other fillers so if you have one close on condition, it could push them over the edge. We have not used any other of their pr...

Swelling/Stump?

Hi, our barrow had been castrated and had swelling. We had hit it with a round of meds to bring the swelling down and it did greatly. We were left with a little bit of a hard swell that our vet calls a stump. She said that she did not want to remove it since it would take too long to repair. She sai...

Water Medicator?

I was recommended to use a water medicator on our showpigs this year. What type of meds would u run through it? Some before shows, some after shows? Did this help to lower the chance of getting the pigs sick?

Re: Judge Kane Causemaker

We showed under him at a county fair, and there he liked his hogs to be wider, have added stoutness, and a good amount of muscle. He was fine to give up some structure to have them added bonuses.

Re: runs uphill

It relates to the hip and shoulder height. If you were to connect a line from the hip to the shoulder and it is increasing like up a hill, then they run uphill. If from the hip to the shoulder, that line runs downhill, then the pig runs downhill.

Re: Suggestions/Questions holding, rib expansion

Pig #1: On the ADG given, she should weigh around 295 in 25 days. I like s'more fill for gut fill made by sunglo. I would just continue to feed her as is because you should also lose some weight on the ride over. If you get closer and she is getting close, then you can adjust. Pig #2: Should weigh 2...

Re: Champion drive

I had four on it this year and they loved to eat it. Worked really good on two, and alright on one and not very good on the other. Could be genetics that are not helping to the cause of them shaping up.

Re: Best breeders

There are a lot of good pig breeders around the USA. If you are looking for one to buy from, it would help if we had a location to help point you to the ones around you.

Re: Advice for a adult and child who want to start showing

Most of the county fairs around me have both an open and junior show. You would be able to show in just the open with your kid being able to show in both the junior and open show in the county fairs around me.

Just to start it off, what did you feed from sunglomand how did you like it. What were somethings you weren't baked to get that you wanted?
