Re: Rate of gain …. Paylean?
That weight gain is about right for a pig that size. They grow faster as they get bigger. They don’t start off gaining 2 lb/day. Also, I suggest transitioning to 819 as it is higher in calories than 719. The pig also needs more feed than 4 lb. I suggest feeding 5 lb 819 1 lb/day Champion Drive 8 oz ...

Ok, Ultra Full will do that. It just a matter of feeding the right High Octane supplements in the right amounts for what you are trying to do.

That simply is not true if you add Depth Charge to the pig's diet.

Re: Holding ration
1.75 lbs/day is correct for what the pig can AVERAGE gaining and stay at or under 300 lbs in 80 days. From 160 to 300 lbs pigs normally average much more than that. To slow weight gain and get control i suggest feeding this diet: (TOTAL DAILY FEED; DIVIDE INTO 2 EQUAL MEALS): Purina HONOR 719 (or 81...

Re: Keeping Pig full while holding
Why are you feeding 7 1/2 lb per day? Powerfill is a complete feed when fed at 3 lb per day. You don’t need anything else.
3 lb/day Powerfill = 1.0 lb daily gain
2 lb Powerfill
2 lb Showpig Feed. = 1.5 lb dainty gain

For the ham/loin juncture Champion Drive at 1 lb per and Heavy Weight at 8 oz per day.
I’m struggling to visualize upper rib fill. Usually, we want ribs to be kind of egg shaped with them being wider sprung through the center of the rib.
Can you help me by explaining what you are talking about?

Re: adding mass and width
Center body would be Depth Charge. However the fore rib (immediately behind the blade is not going move. The pig either has that or it doesn’t. The last 3-4 ribs will expand, but not the fore rib.

Add High Octane Depth Charge to help with rib shape. Start at 4 oz per day and in 7 days increase to 8 oz per day.

It can average gaining 1.6 lb/day (280 - 86) / 120 days = 1.62 lb/day.
Wait until the pig weighs at least 150 lb.

Re: Sow not eating well BIG litter
Champion Drive will provide concentrated nutrition. Which will help since she's not eating much. Remember that it's not the % of protein, lysine etc... so much. What matters is grams per day. For example I use an estimated requirement for sows for lysine of 5 grams/day for every pig nursed. So, if a...

Re: Sow not eating well BIG litter
I’m not sure beer is going to do much for very young piglets. Purina Honor First Wean 319 is available in your area. That’s what I recommend for the piglets. If they are very you g (less than 18 days or so, I suggest mixing milk replacer (make milk and offer the milk first and then after 3-4 days be...

What are you feeding (feeds and supplements... what are they and how much per day)?
How is she watered? (How does she receive water?)
Has she always been small? Or was she sick at one point?
