Re: gilt won't come in heat
I broke down and spent the $35 for the pg600. I gave it to her on sat morning. What I am wondering is how long on average it takes for them to come in heat? It says 3-7 days but will it be closer to 3 or seven? I have ordered some cheap terminal semen already because of thanksgiving just to make su...

Re: Breeding new stock
If those are your options I would probably use the purebred Berk. You might also contact OSI (Ontario Swine Improvement) about getting semen from some of their small breeder members.

Re: Breeding new stock
After a number of generations consecutively bred by AI, you could have a legitimate concern. Re: Breeding new stock
I would not advise breeding with a boar from your bunch since they are all likely closely related. You will be much happier with your offspring if you outcross rather than inbreed. Your best options are to either obtain a new boar which is completely unrelated or to use artificial insemination to br...

Re: AI lube
The sterile lube has one use that is actually sterile (the first time you open it and apply a dab to the catheter). After that, it is no longer sterile. I had a lubricant manufactured for Continental Plastic over the years that was technically not sterile, although it was just as clean as any of tho...

No. If she is actually not cycling it may help her start cycling again. If she is cycling and you just missed her, the pg600 will not alter her cycle at all.
