Re: Cooler malfunction hot semen

Don't know about your wine cooler but your dose of semen is likely fine as long as you use it soon. Gradual warming to 78 will shorten the shelf life, but no immediate harm.

Re: Question About Heat cycles.

22nd. Maybe sooner. Maybe later. 21 days is general, not exact. Most will cycle every 21 days. Some will be as early as 17 or as late as 24 and still be considered "normal". Anything outside of that range is likely indicative of reproductive problems.

Here's a video I put together for Continental Plastic a few years ago. Should answer your questions. If not give me a shout.

Ride from IN State Fair to Texas

Anyone from TX heading to IN State Fair with a topper or trailer? I have a pig (50lbs.) needing a ride as near to Austin or a bit east of Austin as possible. Obviously would pay for the ride. Please PM me if you might be able to help. Thanks in advance!

Re: Returning a sow back to gestation health.

Shouldn't really need to add anything to her diet if your gestation feed is properly formulated. Just keep her on full-feed until her body condition improves or until you breed her again. Once bred, you need to reduce feed to 4-5 pounds per day until she reaches 30 days of pregnancy (to avoid excess...

Also, to make a shameless plug for one of my products ;) , we've gotten many, many reports of improved litter-sizes from customers who have switched to our semen extender. From big commercial farms to small showpig producers, we have strong data to support our product. http://www.cerdosllc.com/ferti...

Re: Temperatures and milking

Check flow rate on your water system to make sure the sows are getting adequate water. Keep them cool with a dripper system if you can. Feed multiple times per day to try to improve intake. If all else fails supplement piglets with milk replacer. I recommend Birthright.
