Re: Diamond @ Shaffer?

Very impressed with Doamond at Shaffer's. Will correct your gilts and sows, just needs to be taken to some muscle probably. Super sound, big flat boned, tall shouldered, up headed. Great boar, especially for his price.

Re: Mouse trap

Southern sky and blue smoke are very impressive aged boars that are still good on their feet and legs, huge boned, tall fronted with very good shape, but just needing to be taken to something with some middle to them. They are very good, top end sires that need to be used more.

Re: Mouse trap

Most complete blue boar I have seen. Bigger framed than I expected, perfect chest floor, tracks very true, huge spread to his front toes, big legged, up headed, and level topped. Very aggressive boar also. I would probably take him to a little muscle is about all I would change

Needing fill and weight gain in a market gilt

I am feeding a market gilt that is very well structured, free and easy moving, heavy boned, and with very good muscle definition. She currently weighs about 200 and fair is about 4.5 weeks out. She is on EZ tone, 9 grams of paylean, frosting and oats and getting a total of about 4.5-5 lbs of feed pe...

Re: Down on pasterns

The pig is not tight and is on concrete. Heard that if I get the protein up more and reduce his intake to 4 or 5 lbs per day it may help

Down on pasterns

What do you recommend to feed a 175 lb pig that is way down on his pasterns to try to keep it from getting worse? He is currently getting a 19% pellet and fed system mechanic

Re: Needing show look

I had planned on using paylean at 3-4 weeks out, along with depth charge and oats to add shape and fill, but was wondering if there are specific brands that do these things best

Pellet quality

Wanted to hear what feed manufacturer makes the best pellet. I can't seem to find one that holds together very well at all. I am feeding anywhere from a 16% to a 20% and have not seen much difference in three different manufacturers.

Currently doing those things. Wondering about more specifics as to anything additional they should/ could be getting that would help. Thanks
