Ideas??

Any thoughts on a Cross boar that will add some muscle and bone to a long bodied very pretty, and sound female. She is a little longer bodied than ideal and tends to flatten in her fore rib. She is decent in bone but I certainly don't want one that will hurt her in that area.

Mary Okie,

I had talked with McCoys regarding Moonshine - and he is top of my list at this point. No problem at all with pasterns here so it is good to hear your thoughts on him.

Thanks!

Big Guns, On the Edge and Way Out

Any more reports on how the pigs out of these boars are looking? I know they are young yet but should definitely be old enough to tell something about them.

Would love to hear some reports on what they seemed to have helped with.

thanks!

York boar suggestion

What York boar will consistently open one up in the lower third of the rib, but won't hurt with bone or muscle?

Motown at Shaffers

Has anyone seen this boar in person, or any pigs out of him? Shaffers looks to have a nice set out of him in their online sale.

Negative exotic boar

Would like your opinions on a negative exotic boar that would modify in length of body add more center rib and a touch of muscle. Really like the Super Model boar - any thoughts on this boar?

<t>Moonshine might be one to try, I saw another post mention Benchmark but I would also suggest High Standards.<br/> <br/> That Exclusive boar at McCoys is sure pricey and is yet unproven but he sure looks interesting. Can't wait to hear what he starts doing.<br/> <br/> Maybe a Final Move son - its ...

<t>I personally like to be there when mine are farrowing. There have been MANY times babies have been born alive but still in the sack. There is no way that pig will live if you aren't there to break that sack. Using drugs to help time farrowing helps me be there so that I can help try to assure as ...

Hopefully you have already done this, but have you checked your boar to make sure his semen quality is good? I would definitely do this before you make any decisions.

<t>I would also lute her. I had a gilt that I knew was bred but at some point during the pregnancy she quit developing and of course she never cycled. I went ahead and gave her lute, she had a big litter of mummies. She was vaccinated for parvo, but you just never know.<br/> <br/> As everyone else s...

The blood is probably from scar tissue. I have seen this a few times over the years and haven't had any problems with sows breeding. I have also gotten a little blood when breeding gilts for the first time and haven't had any problems with getting those bred. You are probably fine.

You can feed it wet or dry, by itself (it is a complete feed) or as a top dress or mixed with other feeds to get where you want.

So far I am loving it, and the pigs seem to also
