Re: Undisputed

I know a few guys who have bred to him, all of them were having issues with the size pigs he was throwing. Seen 3 that were about 2 weeks old, square pigs, seemed pretty moderate with a boxy look to them, good bone and opened up. Obviously could've been a mismatch with what he was bred to but those ...

Re: Sullivan heads up

Heavier towards the end, after working with his pig for a short time my forearm felt like it had been through a workout. Sancho whips nicely balanced, tassel end is designed to where you can replace it yourself as it wears over time.

Show box opinions

Looking at buying a new show box and wanted to see what everyone uses. One we have now we built and it's just big and bulky and we're looking into going to more shows and not really something to lug around. Thanks

Re: Sullivan heads up

Sancho Whip is what we purchased this season!!!

Brother purchased one of the Sullivan whips and it was actually heavier to use it seemed like really wasn't comfortable.

Re: Trucking

Think that's what you have to figure out for yourself honestly. What route/routes are you wanting to run, what type of truck as far as fuel cost, trailer and how many you can haul at once, are you paying for someone to ride with you and help?? I mean all these are figures you have to come up with on...

Re: Breeding Question

Agree with above post, if possible place boar in with sows once they hit standing heat. Leave him in there for 2-4 days and take him back out. My work has called for times when I've had to put him in ahead of schedule as long as you check your sows couple times a day at least when you know they're i...

Re: Depth Charge

We'll use apple sauce and mix all the top dressings with it and then we put it on top of the feed so it's the first thing they eat. Haven't had a pig turn their head to it yet.

Re: Boar not consistantly successful breeding

Might try separating him from the gilts/sows. I had a boar that if I kept him in the same pen with them would just treat them as another pig in a pen and wouldn't even try to breed, younger boar also. Once I took the gilt/sow away from the pen and out of sight I'd then bring her to his pen when she ...
