Re: People that use flush pans HELP
Yeah there was 3 of my crates I had frames for. What I did was buy the flush pan and legs and drilled holes into the frame so the legs worked out perfect for the flush pan and I didn't have to buy crate frame on 3 of them.

Re: People that use flush pans HELP
Yes you'll need the frame underneath to support the flush pan. they have 2 legs in the front and 2 in the back right under where the crate sits. If you've only got a wire frame sitting on concrete blocks as you're only support under it you will also need the flooring frame for it as well. I put 4 in...

York to throw replacement gilts
Looking for a good York out there that will throw some good replacement gilts. Need one that is opened up, good bone and foot to him and is very structurally sound and puts this into his offspring. Structure being the #1 component obviously. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Custom breeding program idea??
Well I guess for me it starts with your first sentence. You mention for those that don't have the facilities or expertise to do so, pretty much anyone who's going to farrow out a pig has the facilities to breed one (only takes a pen). That part I'll be honest I wouldn't really see anyone doing that,...

Re: The new 209 any issues??
Sorry KGB if you thought I made it sound like its a new formula I was assuming it wasn't. However I was curious as to the difference the CTC being taken out of it has made. This is in relation to possible change in taste is one I'm curious about. As stated this is the 1st year I've had where the pig...

The new 209 any issues??
Was wondering with the change made to 209 for the 2017 year has anyone noticed a change in pigs?? I have used Purina for sometime and have had great success getting the pigs started off on the right foot with 209. HOWEVER, this year I've noticed a change in my pigs and I have to associate that with ...

Re: TransRite Sow Ultra??
I have some of this left from last year. Think it's good or should I just throw it out? Spoke to a rep on this he said if it's been sealed shelf life is a few months. I had old stuff and bought a new bag and noticed a huge difference in terms of smell. The old I had while it was sealed up and dry h...

Re: Boar not interested
That's good to hear. As far as going forward each boar would be different in that aspect. For my money keeping him separated and out of site for awhile is the best way to keep him heading in the right direction. As he gets older and more experienced hopefully he'll adjust to doing it on his own if y...

Re: VCP relationship rules
Yeah went to an informational meeting on this very thing and the new guidelines for 2017. The vets there stated being on the premises once every 6 months if you are getting medication or medicated feed prescriptions from them. I voiced my concern for the 4-hers and those that simply only have animal...

Re: TransRite Sow Ultra??
My son did a pilot research project on this at Tarleton State. Not this exact product but another product that supplemented Calcium 5 days prior to farrowing via a top dress product. He was able to demonstrate a decrease in pig-to-pig intervals and an increase avg in the number of live births (I th...
