Re: Pure yorkXbelted blue gilt

Very hard to predict when it comes to genetics. My guess is you will get about 75% that will have color on some where. It might be just a few spots.

Horizon-Premium blend

I have a crossbred Gilt that is real stylish looking from the side but she can use width of chest and more bone. I was wondering if anybody has seen anything from him and if you think he would help. Any input would be well appreciated.

Re: Sow not milking well

If they are not running a fever or have some sort of infection I would start looking at your feed. Around by me the mycotoxins in the corner are so bad that if you're not feeding a binder with your feed the pigs are literally throwing up. That is just my opinion. It's something for you to look at.

Re: Long labor

If that is what it ended up being what I would do is give a little something to prevent infection whatever your vet recommends since you reached inside her and a little extra time before you breed her to heal and she should not have any problems breeding back and this may never happen again. The one...

Re: Long labor

I have one quick question. How pregnant does she look? There is a possibility that from what you are saying that you might have a pseudo pregnancy. With that they will go through all the motion of labor and have no babies. The only thing you might see is a few brown chuncks. Otherwise, if she is pus...

Re: c-section for pigs

I realize this is probably too late to help you but with the experience I had with one last fall with that amount of time gone by the likelihood of the babies still being alive inside and her are very slim with the stress she's gone through over that amount of hours she probably would not survive th...

Re: Pelleted feed

This is only my experience but I would definitely recommend changing brands of feed once you are finished with that pallet. I have tried that feed my pigs just turned up their nose once I switch to purina their appetite has doubled and so did their gain there are other brands out there you can try, ...

The shivering might be from pain. I would consider giving her either aspirin or banamine.
