True Glo vs True Guardian

HogDoc, can you explain the differences between these 2 supplements. The website says Guardian is for breeding stock, but somewhere in this forum I have read posts the True Glow is good startng 2 weeks prior to farrow. I wonder if that party was prior to Guardians introduction to the line? However G...

Re: Draminski help

Thank you! I seem to do better at night than in Mornings. She is now throwing a new loop at me with mucous/drainage and standing for my daughter today and more swelling than she's ever had before. She's also a bit crazy tonight. She was born in January she's way too old but now I'm wondering if she'...

Re: Farrowsure Gold B - Pig not feeling well

We just had this happen, although I am pretty sure it was FS gold (no B). Gave her shot in evening and all next day she was puny. Didn't want to eat or get up much, I had to force her up. By the 2nd day was beginning to feel better. Am I bit nervous about the 2nd round coming up. How did your gilt d...

Re: At what point do I hold and how

Thanks KGB. You are a absolutely right, we should've weighed! Got complacent after last year's heavy pig did fine after weigh in. He somehow only gained a average of around nd a pound a day for over 3 months on 6 pounds of 809. We did weigh him every 2to 4 weeks... We can be heavier. I was just told...

At what point do I hold and how

Have what I think is a heavy muscled barrow (but I don't really know). Born 4.5 months ago on valentines day. 45 days ago weighed 120 so I put him on same regimen as last years hog who weighed 10# more at that time and finished at 280). He now weighs 225 so gaining 2.3 per day but we have 60 days ti...

General basic feeding information

Last year I swear I came upon multiple threads that discussed or just gave general feeding principles. I have looked here and in the Purina section and can't find them. Information around conversion of pounds of gain VS pounds of feed and how it changes as they get older. I also remember a thread va...

limited options

We are new to pigs and live in rural area with limited options. Our feed store carries 509 and we are feeding this. We weighed in yesterday at 135#. We have 69 days until fair weigh ins and we have no max weight but can only get reimbursed for 300#. I understand that for a barrow 260-280 is a good t...
