Wet feeding
If pigs are cleaning up their feed dry is there any reason to start wet feeding?

Re: Moormans Final Burst
We used it with really good results. It is supposed to have a paylean-like growth effect without the potential negative side effects.

Re: Fill Ham/Loin Junction?
I agree with the 16% recommendation and if you have heavyweight that will accomplish your cover goal. Remember to start slow and and then increase. Start now as most fat products take 30-40 days to see results.

Re: Feed advice
They look good muscle and cover wise. The blue pig looks like maybe there is some stiffness there. Not sure. I would continue to work to have them walking up-headed and take advantage of their nice front end extension. I would keep feeding what you're doing with a focus on creating fill.

Re: Gilt breeding information
I did forget to mention that I believe PG only works on gilts that haven't cycled or sows that just had a litter. If your gilts have already started cycling then PG won't bring them into it.

Re: Post cervical rods
You should insert it until it won't go any further and then pull back slightly so that the tip is not right up against the wall.

Re: Best supplement for upper and lower fill
Lower fill is a little tougher in a weeks time, but High Octane Depth charge from Purina is the way to go for overall fill. Increasing feed in general will help overall with fill.

Re: walking my pig
Persistence. You have to be more stubborn than your pig. Just how the original habit was formed you need to create the new one.

Re: Gilt breeding information
So... you are asking some pretty heavy questions here. There is a ton of info and demonstrations available on the internet and You Tube. I suggest you use that as your #1 tool and also the place where you end up buying semen. I've tried to answer a few of your questions below: #1 To our knowledge sh...

Re: Cross Boar
I don't think they'd be selling Visionary @ $350/dose if it was no good, not to mention the guaranteed settle policy. Visionary is still very much in use and has been one of the most common sires at most of the big shows. If I were you based off your description I would look at Hi Point Genetics. Th...

Re: Cross Boar
I think it depends on what you are trying to do...these boars are all slightly different in style. What does your gilt bring to the table and what does she need in terms of physical traits?

Re: Best way to fit your showpig?
We clip real close on the head (1.5mm #10 Andis blade) and ears and blend the neck to a #3-3/4 FC Andis blade (13mm about 1/2 inch) on the body. We leave the legs and tail uncut and blend them into the body. We use the magnetic clipper guards to blend with. All clipping should be done 1 week before ...

Re: Stubborn Pig
This is always a tough situation to answer. I would start by letting her out and closing the gate and letting her "wander" with you close by to get comfortable with you always standing near her. After you see some results from that gently introduce the whip. Not sure how heavy your pig is,...

Re: White Privelege
If you watch/know Heimer they are all about getting their genetics out into breeders programs. They sell through a ton of their sows annually/bi-annually (including Distincts mother) in an effort to get their stuff out there. They have used WP a ton so I don't think there is anything wrong with him....
