ADG calculator

I have developed an excel spreadsheet that helps me calculate ADG, gives number of days till show and allows projections for any number of hogs. Is this something that someone would purchase, or is it easiest enough to do on your own?

We weigh weekly and seems to have been a big help for us so that we can quickly and easily see where we are and adjust accordingly.

If I could, would post excel spreadsheet example, but don't know how.

Another spread sheet that is useful is one that calculates guaranteed analysis of feed. Say you're feeding a barrow 5 pounds of feed a day and included in that ration is 1/2 pound of fat product 4 pounds of a complete feed 1/4 pound of a filler product and 1/4 pound of a paylean product. If you get all the info on your spread sheet then it will calculate your protein, lysine, fat, fiber etc values. So if you change something, say drop the amount of complete feed and add maybe Navigator or Powerfill you can make sure that the barrow's diet doesn't have way too much of something in it. If it does you will know it and can be alerted to problems it could cause. For instance way too much fat or whatever. If you have a daughter or son interested in computers it's a good way to get them some extra learning in.

As far as selling-I think it could be sold, I'm just not marketing oriented enough to tell you how to do it.

In today's age, if you want to create a program that people will buy, create an App. It will sell a lot quicker and will have more usefullness. If you can use it while out at the barn instead of having to come in and sit down at the computer, people will find that to be useful.

Just remember, American's tend to be pretty Lazy. So anything to make things more simple and less work, we will buy! Most people that would use this program, have smart phones and would use the App.

Personally, I already have a spredsheet that calculates the ADG for the kids 4-H projects, but I don't have an App for it!

Would you please send me a copy of your feed spread sheet--I know a couple of kinds who are trying to understand feeding plans, and reasons to keep track of what a change here or there can make, but are over their heads. I really believe something like this could really help them out.
