i get why a spreed sheet good be a great tool but really what happened to old school of paying attention and going with your gut?? But this has turned in to a bussines and real competitive

Redraider, exhibitor families DO need to go with their gut feeling and also need to evaluate their show pigs honestly with 2 eyes and feed them accordingly.

Think about this-it's a good way to get young people to use a very powerful computer tool for the purpose of helping them reach certain goals or aspirations they have associated with their pig projects. They are much more likely to become interested in a spreadsheet program if they can see a way to benefit their pig project when compared to some arbitrary use at school. To go further, if a young'in goes to get a job in most cases they want them to understand and be able to use at least a word program and a spreadsheet program. One could easily set up a program for ADG that would calculate many useful pieces of information and it would be a great way for a young exhibitor to begin to learn about actual computer tools. Just another way for young exhibitors to learn life lessons-just like getting up a half hour before daylight so they can walk an overweight pig morning and evening!
