This year I bought the Andis AGC - 2 speed. They have a cord but do a great job. I didn't go with the cordless just beacause nothing irritates me more than dead batteries. lol

You can buy the guards seperate. I bought the long and short guards. 1/2" is about the break between the two packs so I just got both.

Good luck with your purchase!

I second the Andis 2 speed suggestion. Great clippers. I also prefer the corded clippers. I hate the idea of my battery dying in the middle of clipping a few pigs.

I like these Oster clippers. They come with two batteries, charger and carrying case. We have used the same one set for years and it still runs great.

I actually own the Andis as well and they are good clippers. The Oster and Andis do about the clip job. I just like the convenience of the cordless. Andis does have a cordless as well but it does not come with the 2nd battery or carrying case. I do not think you can go wrong with either one.

rbburg1212 -- Does that clipper require blade guards to adjust the cutting length?
