Looking for ideas to store feed, at least 3-400 pounds.
Want it to be rodent-proof and reasonably simple to feed out of, either with gravity-fed raised type bin or easy to scoop feed out of from the top.
What are you guys using?
Looking for Feed Bin/Storage Ideas
Re: Looking for Feed Bin/Storage Ideas
I would look at a small freezer top open lid freezer. You may can find a used one or one that does not work. They have a seal around the lid to keep it tight.

We see lots of different configurations around show barns. Take it for what it's worth. What I've noticed is when you get much bigger than a muck basket and into that 3-400 lb range getting feed scooped out of the top is difficult especially for short people and kids. I watched a kid where I was a little concerned about their safety a couple months ago. They had a barrel a little under half full and the kid had to balance herself on the edge to scoop out feed and it looked like she could potentially get stuck head down if she lost her balance and fell in. I pointed it out to the Dad and he hadn't thought about it before but agreed they need a new system.
I saw some bins in a horse barn a while back that looked like little bulk bins on stands. I would guess they were around 250 lbs capacity but they looked pretty handy. I could ask that client where they got them if you'd like.

Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.
