We have 20 days until fair and our pig won’t eat much at all. He under weight and I have to get some weight on him fast. Not sure why he’s not eating. We have tried a lot of different things and changed his feed from Linders to Moormans. Thinking maybe an ulcer. My 9yr old is heartbroken about this. Please help fast. Thank you.

Search for the ulcer protocol on here. That should help.

For Ulcer give Gatorade mixed with probiotic yogurt.

Hey!
First off best of luck! Here are my thoughts...
1. Check for Ulcers especially if he was a good eater before.
2. Try vanilla ice cream if it's too cold melt it... it is fatty and all my problem pigs have loved it (took one that was a terrible eater from 198 to 220 in 7 days)
3. Try another feed... I've met some people in my fairs/show circuit that have had some problems with those feeds not being palatable. Showrite is what I use and it never has been a problem. Sunglow is also nice but gets expensive.
4. Soak the feed... this is the best feeding method I've found... it's less waste and they suck it up... if the feed is pellet then it should be soaked in milk (water for a fat pig) until it is soupy mush... it really increases feed efficacy in my experience
5. Scraps... anything pig safe veggie, meat gristle and grain scraps... just to get some more calories.
6. De worm. A gut full of worms makes them feel full when they aren't.

Hope this helps some! And if he doesn't make it weight but gets back on his feed show in feeder class! It is great experience! Best of luck! :D
