Forum Policy

Post by Showpig » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:29 pm

We want our forums to be a source of education and social support for those within the industry. Spreading rumors or innuendo does nothing to assist in that goal. We are and will continue to be very consistent in deleting posts that attack or criticize a judge's style, manner or personality, or posts that suggest unethical behavior or posts that discuss a controversial show event, ruling or results.

Showpig.com allows posts that give others an idea of what type of hog a judge likes or selects. (Posts that include words like "sound," "deep," "heavy-muscled," etc.) Discussing what you thought of a winner or champion is also fine as long as the discussion is kept to the animal itself.

Showpig.com has always taken the approach that it is better to address controversies at the source, whether it be the person under question or the show committee or show administration.

We also have a chat system that would allow you to have personal discussions of those subjects that may not fit in the confines of our forum policy.

If you have a question about our policy, don't hesitate to e-mail, we'll be happy to explain.

Best wishes!

???????????????????????????

Post by gidkid » Sat Jul 29, 2006 10:28 pm

I dont understand why asking what type of hog a judge likes is a problem, we all like different types??? I can understand if someone is cutting down a judge but what style of hog ???? some judges like stylish pigs some judges like power style how is this someting negitive???? A good hog comes in many shapes and forms! The fitters that get around will find out what he likes so the ones that cant afford to are at a disadvantage if they cant ask for an opinion. As long as the person giving the opinion doesnt start bashing his performance I dont see a problem.
Just my opinion no bashing.

I applaud your decision. Too many complainers in this world.

It would be cool if we all started a thread about upcoming major shows ,what judges will be there and what they like in a show barrow. This helps us feeders know what to expect before hand and hopefully helps us get our barrows ready for that particular judge.

I agree with VooDoo feeders. I would be helpful if we started a post for what judges will be at shows and what they like. If you have 5 pigs in the barn and one is hard, one soft, one short and wide one long and sleek, then it is tough to know what the judge will like and with the amount of money it cost now a days to raise these pigs it would be nice to get an idea of which hog would give our kids the best chance to win and make a little money. good comment voodoo feeders.
