Question

Post by Pig lover » Wed Dec 09, 2015 8:19 pm

At our show we have a 3-4 day break between weigh in and show day. It can be challenging to keep them on normal ration that many days in this strange environment leading up to the show. Any advice to keep their appetites up?

After weigh in, feed them normally after slowly getting them back up on feed (the 1st day). Then keeping them hydrated is the best thing you can do. Be sure you are giving them enough water.

If you hand water (out of a bucket) make sure you are giving them a drink at least every 2 hours. In warm conditions, that should be every hour. Remember that water intake is directly related to feed intake.
