Well, all of our Honor Show Chow Showpig feeds contain ground steam rolled oats. Prelude 209 and Prelude 309 both contain a substantial amount. So, yes I recommend feeding rolled oats to all ages of show pigs.

Aside from helping the stomach what are other benefits of feeding oats?

There is a misconception that rolled oats (steam rolled oat groats) create middle or belly. I guess if you fed most of the diet in rolled oats it could help that a little. But, middle or belly has to do with rate of passage. The more digestible an ingredient or product is the faster it is digested and passes through the digestive tract. The less digestible, the slower the rate of passage and the more belly it creates.

Rolled oats are very digestible. More digestible than corn. And that's why they should be fed. The younger the animal, the higher the digestibility the feed needs to be. By the way, ALL of the HSC showpig feeds contain ground steam rolled oats.
