35 days to show

Post by jarcarsar » Sun Jan 03, 2016 8:58 pm

We have a tall big framed barrow that needs more muscle, fill and cover. He weighs 207 35 days to show with 280 max at show. We are afraid he will get tight so not sure about using paylean. We have been feeding 5 lbs 16% protein, 3/4 Lb champion drive, 1/2 lb depth charge, 1/2 lb ultrafull, 1lb oats, 1/2 lb moorfat, and lubricyn and surechamp daily. We've been feeding this for past few weeks but still not getting desired results. Any suggestions on adjustment we could make?

KGB will have the best answer...But here is something we are doing! You can gain 2.08 a day. Plus you will lose some on the trailer ride approx 6#. Try bumping up your Champions Drive to 1# and 16oz of Depth Charge and 16oz of UltraFull. We actually cut out the base feed, to help us achieve the muscle, cover and fill that we need to get him to his potential. We will also use Paylean if needed the last 14-21 days.

We use: and gaining 2# ADG and looking awesome

2 1/2# of Powerfill
1# of Champions Drive
16 oz Depth Charge
16 oz of UltraFull
12 oz of Heavy Weight

Thanks, I will try that. Have you ever mixed in fitter 35 with the champion drive for more muscle expression?

Yes you can mix fitter 35 and champion drive, remember fitter 35 will burn fat slowly so make sure you have enough to burn where as champion drive will not add or take away fat.
Also fitter 35 can be used as a sole ration so if you add it take away the same amount of base feed if you adg is where you want it.
Take something good out of every experience you have.

Been using Moorfat instead of Heavy weight because I had some. Are those pretty close to the same?

There are some differences. Besides being offered by different companies, they have different levels of protein and fat, and Heaby Weight contains some coconut oil.

bhitter---is that plan per day or per feed?

Per day, we divide it evenly twice a day. We feed at 5am and 5pm
We weight it out and put in gallon zip lock bags (am and pm) shake it to mix it real good. Our barrow loves it
