Post by Jssp » Tue Nov 08, 2016 6:39 pm

Local feed store has Been selling us 709 that is from beginning of July. Is that too old. Not seeing the same results as usual. I've been feeding Purina for over 5 yrs

That's 4 months old. However, unless it has been damaged by mold, insects, rodents etc... The nutrients are intact. I realize we (I include myself in that) want feed as fresh as possible, but the reality is the feed should still be good.

Have you spoken with the dealer and expressed your desire to purchase fresher feed?

KGB,

Our feed store delivered feed that was milled on 7/10/17 today. Is it reasonable to ask our feed store to take it back and give us something fresher?

I really like the Purina feeds and use when possibly however it has become much more difficult to buy as they have imposed such large minimum shipping to my local dealer.

In other words, this may not be the fault of the retailer.
