Need Weight Gain

Post by Hawk2005 » Thu Nov 16, 2017 12:44 pm

Hello,

I have a gilt that is struggling to gain weight. She is currently 115 pounds with 55 days until check in. We need her to be a minimum of 220. She has been on Moormans but I am willing to change it up to get the pig where she needs to be. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone who answers is going to have you run the gauntlet of these questions (and maybe more):

How's the water? Clean, cool and available?
Any signs of sickness? Cough, runny nose, low energy, etc.?
Have you dewormed recently?
How much is she eating now? Are hand feeding or limit feeding?

In all reality the base feed is not the issue it is something else.

Water, Clean and Cold
Had a cough about a month ago, treated, no signs of sickness now. No lack of energy.
Dewormed 2 weeks ago with safeguard.
Auto feeder right now so I do not have an exact weight. Going to move to hand feeding starting tomorrow.

Try Honor Show Chow 909. Most pigs eat this extremely well.
