adding mass

Post by ddwil » Sun Jan 06, 2019 9:40 am

Wanting to know if I add 1 lb of Fitter 52 to 3-3 1/2 lbs of 709, so a total of 4-4 1/2 lbs per day, will I be able to add extra shape and mass up high with this ration over the last 30 days before my show. Also, how much will they gain on this much Fitter 52 in their total ration? I am needing gain of about 2 lbs per day. I also need to drop their flank over this period. Thank you

What is the current weight and target weight?

I like Champion Drive for adding Mass. Fitter 52 is an awesome product, but it burns fat and will probably work slightly against filling your flank and dropping your belly. It works really well to sculpt the muscle and creating definition. Ultra Full is one of my favorite product for dropping the belly.

4-4.5lbs per day sounds a little light for total feed going into the last 30 days before the show on a market hog. I have found that pushing feed volume higher also contributes to overall fill. Also, that is a lot of Fitter 52 (1lbs total) if you're not trying to burn off a ton of fat.

3 lb of 709 + 1 lb Fitter 52 = 33 grams per day lysine which is more than enough.

Fitter 52 does burn fat. However, to increase muscle, not burn fat, and help with flank:
(Total daily feed; divide into 2 equal meals):
HSC 709. 3 lb
HO Fitter 52 1 lb
HO Heavy Weight 8 oz
HO Ultra Full 1 lb

The pig should average gaining about 1.7 - 1.9 lb per day
