Please help!! Lost pigs to cougar have back up pig but is light!!!

Post by Bigwhiskey » Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:34 pm

Hello. I also posted this question on the nutrition forum too. I had a cougar come into our pen and drag our two Showpigs through a tight field fence with wood boards. Horrible!! Fish and game came out and tracked the collared cougar and took care of the issue. We raise pigs and have others but they are a good 50-60lbs lighter. The two that we are looking at at 95lbs. We have 54 days until weigh in and our minimum is 230lbs. I have access to purina products and already have some in hand. Can we make 230lbs or more in 54 days??? I would like to tell my son, we will sure try. Let me know your thoughts.

Actually the answer is maybe. No guarantee, so to guarantee is no. But, it is possible.

I replied to your Ask the Expert question.

Maybe??? I like maybe!!!

Kevin, I do not see your response on ask the expert. I just got a response saying you will be out of the office. If you wouldn't mind, could you post your response either here or my email bigjakeeverly@aol.com. Thank you.

I really appreciate your quick responses. I know you are busy and for you to take the time to answer everyone's questions, thank you!!

That is the e-mail I sent my Ask the Expert reply to, and also forwarded that replay again (to the same e-mail address). Sounds like it’s caught in your spam filter.

Today starts fair weekend and we did it! It took the whole family, but we got this pig to 250lbs. A big thank you to KGB and the advice he gave us. The piv, Clark, looks great and will have to post a picture when he is all shined up. To think, eight weeks ago he was 95lbs and today he is 250lbs. Can't wait to see them in the show ring.
