Champion Drive

Post by ddwil » Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:40 pm

Kevin, a few questions. One, is there any benefit to feeding more than 1 lb of Champion Drive in order to add muscle mass? How long does it take to typically see a good response with 1 lb of Champion Drive on an average muscled pig(I am also feeding 4 lbs per day of 719) Secondly, do you recommend starting them out at 1 lb per day of Champion Drive or 1/2 lb(this is for the last 40-50 days before the show). Next, will Champion Drive cause pigs to tighten up and get short strided? If I feed 1 lb of Fitter 52 with 1 lb of Champion Drive and 4 lbs of 719 per day, do I need to feed Heavyweight in order to not burn too much fat off the pig? Thank you for you help

More than 1 lb/day Champion Drive does provide a benefit and I have fed 2 lb/day at times;
- I wanted it to work faster
- the pig needed more help

It generally takes about 30 days at 1 lb/day

Start at 1 lb per day. It is very palatable, and does not increase the energy of the diet.

No, Champion Drive should not cause the pig to tighten up.

When feeding Fitter 35 or Fitter 52 they will burn fat. So, if you don’t want to burn fat it is a good idea to add Heavy Weight.
