Jello mix does nothing. I think it's Gelatine which is a product name for a water human water soluble mix.

Actually, I think Fluid Flex works very well. It's a liquid.. just mix into the pig's feed.

Fluid Flex is a horse product, so anywhere horse supplements, and feed additives are sold, you will find this product. The pig needs to get at least 3 grams/day glucosamine. Fluid Flex has about 2500 mg/ounce (2.5 grams). If you mix 1 ounce into each pig's feed both morning and night (2 ounces total per day), you'll be giving the pig enough.

It takes at least 3 grams for a pig. Remember a horse is probably not being fed Paylean, on a dietary regimen like show pigs, and exercised like a pig. Mainly, it's the stress on joints caused by the explosion in growth rate (most of it muscle) when fed Paylean. The pig needs 3 grams per day. Feed less if you're not comfortable. Just my experience. ( guess I'm saying it's not body weight, it has more to do with joint stress.

Glucosamine and chondroitin will not test. They are naturally occuring compounds in pigs (and humans). They are merely joint lubricants.

We use it the final 30 -45 days prior to show. If you are feeding Paylean, there is about a 7 day "loading" period for glucosamine, so start feeding 7 days prior to feeding Paylean. Feed it all the way through showday. If you have a pig that is a bit stiff, a little straight on it's hocks, or just needs help getting around, feed it as long as possible....start early.

Also, if you have a heavy muscled pig that moves a little stiff, and is restricted. Use either Absorbine or Therma Flex. Therma Flex is roughly twice as concentrated as Absorbine. You can use it these straight on red or black pigs. For white pigs cut it 50:50 with water. We put it in a spray bottle and spray the pigs' shoulders, top, rump, stifle, hamps, and down into the hocks. Spray the pig prior to walking. You will be amazed at what this can do in 30 days. No..it will not test.

Thanks KGB! Honestly folks, he is one of the most helpful people I've found. I don't know him from the man in the moon, but he's always an email away! :D
