The feeding rate is 1 lb per day per pig. High Octane Champion Drive will help with muscle and muscle shape, especially noticeable in the pig's top (deeper groove, wider back). It also does nice things for skin and hair. Champion Drive also contains TASCO and octacosanol.

Can you use champion drive if you are currently using a ration with 4.5 grams of paylean already in it?

KGB,
I have pigs on a 17% complete feed now with 4.5 grams paylean. We show 3.5 weeks from now. Pigs are around 230. Want to get them about 260. How much Champion Drive and Depth Charge should I give them. They need more middle and more expression in their tops. Suggestions?

That means they can gain about 1.2 lb per day. That's going to be tough to do and feed Paylean. Do you plan to feed Paylean all the way to show? (For another 25 days)?

To answer about Champion Drive and Depth Charge; 1 lb per day Champion Drive and 8 to 16 oz per day Depth Charge.

Paykean itself will produce more muscle and more top shape. I guess in also wondering why if you need muscle you are only feeding the 4.5 grams per ton concentration.

I do not want them to get too stiff by feeding too much paylean ie 9 grams. Do you think I will have a tough time with them gaining too much in 3.5 weeks? Do I need to mix powerfill in with my ration? My ultimate goal is to have the pigs come in around 260 - 265. They need more middle / fullness and could use more expression in their tops and ham. We show on 8/12. They weigh around 230 right now. What would you do? This feeding thing is new to me!

If you take the pig to 265 lbs, that equates to an average daily gain of 1.52 lbs per day. That is much better than 1.2. (265 - 230) / 23 days = 1.52.

I don't know how long the pig has been on Paylean, but the difference between 4.5 and 9 grams/ton is not that great. It's not the Paylean that causes problems it's the pig's structure and how we feed it. If the pig can take 4.5 then it can take 9 grams/ton.

So, for the next 23 days, to hit 1.5 lbs per day, feed Paylean, increase muscle shape, and maintain cover (that's a tall request) feed:
(TOTAL FEED PER DAY; DIVIDE INTO 2 EQUAL MEALS):
HSC Powerfill 2 lbs
High Octane Champion Drive 1 lbs
High Octane Heavy Weight 8 oz
High Octane Paylean Premix 1 oz
High Octane Depth Charge 8 oz

If the pig is gaining too fast, reduce the Powerfill to 1 3/4 lbs per day.

I actually meant to say 1 lbs Depth Charge, start at 8 oz and in 4-5 days increase to 16 oz per day.

There is no maximum. Feed what you need to feed to get the job done in your pigs. That can range between 1/2 and 2 lbs per day. But, if the pigs need more, AND they will eat it, then feed more.

We have about 35 days to fair, our market hogs are around 250 lbs, we can't be over 295lbs. We need to hold our hog so they don't gain to much more weight for fair but we also want to start them on champion drive to top dress them. Any suggestions on holding weight and starting champion drive.
Thank you in advance for your help

I would use power fill by honor show chow at a total of 3 lbs. and 1 lb of depth charge per day this will equal 1lb of gain.
