thoughts on milk replacer

What are your thoughts on milk replacer with show pigs. Do you think it should be banned, or do you think it is fair? I'm just curious on your opinions. :D

We use sow milk replacer. Sometimes there aren't enough teats and you have to supplement until they are weaned. Is this what you mean or in feed up to show? KGB what is the value of milk replacer or an egg? I would assume that powerfill has similar protein to fat ratio of this items. I think I calculated an average egg once had same ratio. I think it took a dozen eggs to equal 1 pound of Powerfill. Maybe my nutrition math stinks though. We used to use more eggs and milk protein in the past but I like the Purina products it makes weighing and measuring simpler. (We used to have alot of chickens 3 years ago)

I don't have a problem with it. For us it's to high in fat and protein. A good lamb replacer has 35% fat 25% protein so we just use real goat or lamb milk. Which is 15 fat 18 protein. We only use it to increase feed intake and man does it work well. If anything should be banned it's paylean. Most 4hers don't use it correctly and ruins their pigs. Go watch a small county fair and you will see what I mean.

Just curious why to use milk replacer when feeding versus sumo or heavy weight?
