It's very doable to gain the last 100 lb in the next 45 days it depends on what feed your feeding and how much feed they are eating. the Pig needs to gain just over two pounds a day to reach our goal.

It's doable but everything has to go just right for the next 45 days. Base feed alone probably won't get you there.

I am using Nutrena feed it's 18% protein 1% lysing and 5% fat and 6% fiber. Her oldest Pig is a Barrow and he's got a lot of belly fat.

I would not worry about that yet. Judges like the full look now and once it starts getting more length it will lose some belly, that's based on a 160-180 pound pig. Once you thinks it's finished eating and there is any feed still in it's pan then put a couple ounces of heavyweight or frosting XL on it and it will finish the rest. Pigs devour that stuff its their version of a candy bar. Either one of those suppliments will make them eat more feed.and increase weight gain.

The pigs got out of their pen today and they seem to really be eating the alfalfa should I give him some of that if their weight is iffy or will it make them not gain as much weight.

It's just a filler don't give them any if you are still pushing for more weight. Only time we give any hay is when they get loose stools and it normally helps.

Okay that's what I thought. I did get some heavy weight and the barrels from the first show love it which one I've used it in the past the pig seem to love it. But the guilt for the next show is super heavily muscled she doesn't seem to like it was trying to put a little fat on her cuz she's so lean. Her Massillon is so tight she bows in the middle of the back last year the judge gave my granddaughter red ribbon I think he thought we put it on massive steroids. But we didn't shida super muscled somebody could help me out appreciate that these are not red ribbon pigs ever

Lower the protein in her feed and start slopping it with a high fat lamb milk replacer or find some actual goat milk.

I am getting really nervous we took them off to sell feeder we are hand-feeding them twice a day one is gaining weight inches I just have a tape measure one is too seems to be gaining good the other ones are all eating but I don't know if they're getting big enough. I am feeding them six ounces a heavyweight 8 oz of champion Drive and three lb Nutrena feed showpig twice a day weigh in is in 11 days
