Electrolyte supplement

Post by Teddyballgame047 » Tue Dec 26, 2017 6:52 pm

I was wondering if anyone had a recipe to get the pigs that showday pop before hitting the ring. Everyone's got their secrets I just want to know what everyone uses right before show to make them look their best!

We sure haven't found anything better than our TruePurple product. We just got a note from a customer that said " purple makes them eat everything you put in front of them. Then they'll eat the pen if you don't keep putting feed and water in front of them."

Thank you! I will try it for our next show! We've been using bloom n secret but it's so hard trying to get them to eat the whole tube of paste. Even when mixed with food they don't like the taste

Essential Feeds Keep 'n On. Nothing else like it to fill and hydrate a hog when weigh backs are an issue!

We used TruePurple this year after it was introduced and thought it did a great job. It is a nice addition to the product line up that we already used from True North Technologies

Dolfan

I need something that will keep these pigs on feed while travelling 30+ hours. What do you recommend? There is so much out there that claim to do the trick. I need something to feed either the whole time on feed or just before travel.

I have fed sure champ the whole feed period and they did well, Problem is availability. I started vita charge 7 days before travel and that kept them on feed. Problem is expense and a pain to administer unless you add to their feed.

The true products i have not tried. the trueglo or the true purple sound promising.

Powerfuel claims to keep them on feed while stressed. but at 1 pound a day, im not sure that is what i want. I need them to eat pig feed not 50% feed 50% supplements.

We just got back from Phoenix and i just used vita charge and they stayed on feed, just a pain to use.

The directions say to use up to 3 days before show/ transport. Can it be used longer to improve appetite or does it start to lose effectiveness after several days?

Yes it can when we were doing trial work with it we had some pigs on it for 6 weeks without ill effects. They will not continue to increase appetite over time like they do the first 3 or 4 days.

We have traveled long distances to shows 15+ hours each way and have had no problems keeping them on feed ever since we started using True glo several years ago and now true purple helps keep them drinking. We use these products on all of our showpigs. Unfortunately we won't be showing for a couple years until the grand kids are old enough as my youngest showed her last show at state fair, now she is to old.

How was Arizona nationals ? I watched as much as I could on walton.
