Supplementing Feed for Show Pigs
I'm looking to improve my daughter's gilt's overall appearance. She is structurally sound, has good shape and muscle. We have supplemented with Champion Drive in the past and had great results. I'm wondering if we can also add Powerfill to the mix to improve her appearance even more. My daughter does not want to use Paylean. Looking to make a good overall pig even better. She is set to gain 2 lbs per day all the way up to show day and come in right at the top of the weight limit.

High Octane Fitter 52 does a lot of what Paylean does. By the way, is there a reason for not wanting to feed Paylean?
I’m not trying to convince you that you should, just trying to provide factual information. Paylean is misunderstood and mis-fed.

Re: Supplementing Feed for Show Pigs
She doesn’t want to use paylean because she is going to be bred and prefers not to. We are currently using 1 lb of feed, 16oz of Powerfill, and 8 oz of Champion Drive two feedings per day. Also adding beet pulp to the feeds. She can gain about 1.8 lbs per day til fair. We are new to supplementing and I’m not sure if we are using the champion drive and Powerfill in correct proportions.

She is also already a fairly heavy muscled pig. Structurally sound, wide across top
