I recently just got my show pig, she weighs about 30 to 40 pounds. I plan on showing her for a show that happens in February. I wanted to know if I can start feeding her regular feed but slopped? The reason why I want to start slop already is because I want her to expand a little from the sides. Is it oaky to start slopping already?

Personally, being a gilt and being that small, a good self-feeder and a high quality, very palatable feed will do a much better job than trying to slop her. I've always found that pigs slop really well for about 21 to 28 days. Then you have to start changing up the feed to keep them going. We have gilts that size on a self feeder & on Sunglo 803 and they are cranking!
