That all depends on the pig. Some pigs grow to quick on full feed and they become tight and lose some of their mobility. This can lead to joint issues. A general rule is between 125 and 150. I have had to start hand feeding at 115 because of growth.

We always start a hand feeding from the beginning. At the younger ages and weights we feed just enough so that they run out an hour or two before the next feeding. This achieves 2 goals. 1. It allows us to know how much our pigs are consuming daily. 2. It makes it easier to get pigs to consume full meals in one sitting as they get older.

By the way hand feeding doesn’t necessarily mean limit feeding. They are two different things.
